- Graduated magna cum laude at the University of Rome La Sapienza and awarded a Commercial Law class at the University of California, Los Angeles
- In 2000, Paolo was one of the founding members of Lovells (now: Hogan Lovells) in Italy, where he has among others led the Italian Life Sciences and the Italian Corporate Insurance teams for 13 years.
- In 2013, Paolo lead a team of 3 partners and 12 lawyers in the move to EY Law, as the head of the whole Italian (and subsequently Mediterranean) practice, counting on 200 lawyers in multiple offices in Italy, Portugal and Spain.
- Co-author of a manual on the Italian corporate reform. He has published numerous articles on specialized reviews and national financial papers

- Assistance to EU and US financial institutions in numerous strategic transactions, including coordination of multi-jurisdictional teams
- Assistance to a UK investor in the framework of the first attempt of an insurance company to purchase an Italian bank
- Assistance to a major EU insurance group in the securitization of their motor insurance portfolio, as part of a pan-European deal
